A luxurious super yacht boasting mahogany interiors, wall-to-wall bookshelves and lavish furnishing harking back to the golden age of sailing, has gone on the market for an eye-watering $59million (£48.3million).
Sprawling across three levels, Athena, a 295ft-long three-masted schooner, is believed to be the fourth largest sailing yacht in the world and is currently the largest up for grabs.
Ideal for a yachting enthusiast and nine friends, the ship features five cabins including a master suite with its own study, a walk-in wardrobe and luxury Jacuzzi. Guests aboard the vessel can unwind in its gym, outdoor sun lounge and spacious dining room.

Across the vessel's three levels of living space there are a variety of saloons including a bridge deck saloon or media room and a spacious main saloon which leads to a formal dining room.
There is a study area with wall-to-floor bookshelves, a gym, and plenty of storage space.
Up on the vast deck another table is available for al fresco dining as well as numerous individual sun beds, a full tanning bed and a covered terrace with couches.

Athena was built in 2004 at the Royal Huisman Shipyard in The Netherlands before undergoing a comprehensive refit in 2011.  
The boat is decked out in rich mahogany wood and teak joinery designed by Rebecca Bradley Interior Design. 
Behind its extravagant finish it is also technologically impressive - its Panamax masts are rigged with 2,500 square metres of sail power controlled by touch button technology while a 190ft high 360-degree bird’s eye view is accessible via the hydraulically hoisted crow’s nest.
Under power, twin 3516B Caterpillar engines give the yacht a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
The super yacht also carries an extensive selection of water sports equipment, including full scuba diving gear.

Athena sports a Cayman Islands flag and is currently lying in the Caribbean but the sale, via boat dealer Burgess, must occur offshore and out of US waters.
