An incredible footbridge concept that resembles a robotic dragonfly could one day be used by pedestrians in Inner Mongolia.
The futuristic concept is the vision of London-based architect Margot Krasojevic, who is known for her experimental and cutting edge designs.
Her latest ambitious creation would have the ability to fold up for transport, as well as to adapt itself to its surroundings.
This would allow the bridge to move up and down the river, which would be achieved either by towing the massive structure or by onboard sails which would allow it to propel itself.

KANGBASHI DISTRICT
The innovative project was commissioned by the Ordos City government who were looking for a new crossing for the Wulan Mulun River, in the Kangbashi district.
The Kangbashi District of Ordos City has previously hit headlines as a ghost city, which remains empty despite having been built around six years ago and being able to accommodate up to one million people.
The urbanisation project is part of a larger government initiative to move 250 million Chinese citizens from rural areas to cities by 2026.The innovative project was commissioned by the Ordos City government who were looking for a new crossing for the Wulan Mulun River, in the Kangbashi district.
Speaking to MailOnline about the design, Dr Krasojevic said: 'The revolving sail boat was inspired by the FLIP boats which rotate by 90 degrees and float when in position.
'The revolving sail bridge tries to define a new typology for a bridge, which synthesises movement and flexibility like a yacht.
'The structure is shown at different scales with all the configurations of walkways expanded giving an idea of flexibility and location.
'I attempted to design a bridge which adapts to the changing urban fabric, a design to hopefully reflect a city’s constantly fluctuating population and programmatic density, why should it be stationary?
'Why can’t it have another use when it is not a bridge?
'A pop-up restaurant, quayside coffee shop even a cinema. Cities demand adaptable design rather than a static and debilitating architectural presence.'
The bridge consists of a main floating section that supports three expanding walkways and a carbon fibre triple sail.

MARGOT KRASOJEVIC'S PREVIOUS CONCEPTS
Dr Krasojevic's ambitious architectural ideas have hit the headlines a number of times over the years.
In 2014, she made waves in the design industry with her vision of a stunning home powered by hydroelectricity.
The Hydroelectric Tidal House aimed to harness the consistent and powerful movement of waves to generate energy.
Ms Krasojevic has also designed a futuristic manmade reef with an electric field designed to attract calcium carbonate from the water in a bid to form new reefs quickly.
Her other designs include a futuristic pavilion that acts as an integral part of Paris’ flood control infrastructure.
Located on the banks of the Seine, the structure would divert floodwater into outlying lakes and reservoirs via a series of underground canals
She has also dreamt up a futuristic trimaran yacht that would operate 100 per cent self-sufficiently with power generated by solar panels on the wingsail and cost an estimated £9 to 10million.
